Heather received her PhD from the University of Florida in Microbiology and Immunology. Most recently, she came from Wake Forest University (North Carolina), where she was the director of the microscopy core at Wake Downtown. She has worked with biologists, chemists, biophysicists, biomedical engineers, and material scientists, helping them perform cutting-edge imaging experiments.

Heather has a broad knowledge base and trains on all instruments, but specializes in live-cell imaging, expansion microscopy, and super-resolution microscopy. She is the lead scientist at the Live Cell Imaging Core @SCRB.
