#  Remote Observation/Assistance via TeamViewer 

 



 To remotely connect to an imaging session with HCBI staff, please complete the following steps:

 1) Download the TeamViewer software from [here](https://www.teamviewer.com/en-us/download/).

 2) Install the "Default" version for "Personal / Non-commercial use"

 3) You DO NOT need to create a TeamViewer account. This step can be skipped during instalation.

 4) You must be connected to the Research Computing VPN. For instructions on how to connect to the RC VPN, click [here](https://docs.rc.fas.harvard.edu/kb/vpn-setup/).

 VPN: vpn.rc.fas.harvard.edu  
 User name: \*Your RC/SPINAL Username\*@odyssey  
 2 factor: OpenAuth token

 5) Open TeamViewer and click on the "Remote Control" tab.

 6) Call the HCBI staff memeber who is performing the imaging (phone numbers are listed [here](/people)). If your phone plan has limited talk time, Skype, Zoom or WhatsApp can also be used.

 7) The HCBI staff member will provide you with a "Partner ID" and Password. Enter these in the TeamViewer window to connect.

 8) Click "Connect"

 Please note: HCBI computers do not have integrated speakers and microphones. A phone or VOIP connection will need to be maintained throughout the entire session to communicate with HCBI staff. Be aware of cell phone overage charges!
