#  Workstation Access - HCBI: Workstation3 &amp; 5 

 



 To reserve time on a workstation in the facility please:

 **1)** Navigate to our reservation calendar, [SPINAL](https://webapps.sciences.fas.harvard.edu/spinal/), and reserve a workstation. Select the appropriate workstation based on what programs or software you will need.

 If you have reserved a Workstation, you can connect to it remotely.To remotely connect to an HCBI processing workstation, please complete the following steps:

 **1)** Reserve the Workstation in [SPINAL](https://webapps.sciences.fas.harvard.edu/spinal/l/?next=/spinal/)

 **2)** Download the TeamViewer software [here](https://www.teamviewer.com/en-us/download/).

 **3)** Install the "Default" version for "Personal / Non-commercial use"

 **4)** You DO NOT need to create a TeamViewer account. This step can be skipped during instalation.

 **5)** Connect to the Research Computing VPN. For instructions on how to connect to the RC VPN, click [here](https://docs.rc.fas.harvard.edu/kb/vpn-setup/).

 VPN: vpn.rc.fas.harvard.edu  
 User name: \*Your RC/SPINAL Username\*@odyssey  
 2 factor: OpenAuth token

 **6)** Open TeamViewer and click on the "Remote Control" tab.

 **7)** Enter IP address of computer into “Partner ID” box and click “Connect” (Workstation IP and password information is [here](https://projects.iq.harvard.edu/hcbiworkstations/teamviewer))

 **8)** Enter “Password”
