#  Chemical and Biological Safety 

 



### Safety at the HCBI is a top priority. Documentation can be found here and posted throughout the facility. 

New users will undergo a brief lab safety orientation for the facility upon their first visit. Users are expected to be up-to-date on their chemical and biological safety training from their own labs. Please contact the HCBI staff if you have any questions or concerns.

We are approved for:

Biosafety Level 1 (BSL-1): Mouse and chicken tissues, *B. subtilis*, *E. coli* (non-pathogenic strains), *S. cerevisiae*, *S. pombe*, *A. niger*, *P. chryosgenum, C. elegans*, Zebrafish, Termites

Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2): Human cells/ cell lines, discarded human tendons,

**If your biological sample is not listed, please contact HCBI about adding your experiment to our COMS protocol**
